I bike and hike and run rather frequently, and have been searching for a medical-grade compression sock for several months that wouldn't necessarily break the bank.

Well, I ended up breaking the bank and bought the CEP Men's Compression Outdoor Socks and haven't regretted it!

First off, these are a bit subdued in color compared to the CEP socks for runners. The Outdoor Sock is more of a black/grey/olive color pattern. And yes there *is* a special way to put them on, but it gets easier with time (check YouTube for instructional videos). The socks seem to have an 'oily' feel to them when first taken out of the box, but is likely the result of the manufacturing process. In any case, it goes away with repeated wearings.

If you're too rough when putting these socks on, you'll pull a thread loop so beware... Socks can feel a bit tight at first, but if you've measured your calf with a good fabric tape, you will be in the right size and get used to the feel right away. I experienced slightly numb toes when I first wore them without realizing the toebox had twisted to one side when I was learning to put them on. You can correct this after the sock has been completely fitted (sounds dumb to say that, but these socks will strangle you if you don't fit them correctly!)

The box is in German with uber-tiny English translations on key product points, so good luck reading it.

Don't be afraid of the price - these socks are well worth it!
